Sundowns star: Every game is a must-win, we don’t care about the wins behind us.

Mamelodi Sundowns have found their unique recipe of winning matches and they keep maximizing all the ingredients that they have with new ones. It’s like Sundowns cannot do any wrong in the 2021/22 season, as they’re currently the team to beat. On Sunday, the Brazilians thrashed the struggling Swallows FC 3-0 in the DStv Premiership encounter. The goals were scored by Pavol Safranko, Neo Maema, and Peter Shalulile to make sure that the Tshwane giants walk away with the maximum points.

Now, the Man of the Match Divine Lunga has stated that Sundowns always want to win games and it’s a norm at Chloorkop. They don’t worry about what they have done before, and every game is like the first one in the season as go all out. The aim is to continue with their dominance in the Premier Soccer League. “Every game is a must-win, we don’t care about the wins behind us. In every game, we play we treat it like our first game of the season. We want to collect maximum points and stretch the gap,” said Lunga talking to SuperSport TV about Sundowns' plans this season.

At the moment, Masandawana is sitting comfortably at the top of the log standings with 16 points after six matches and is still unbeaten. They’ve managed to win five of their games and only had one draw. By the looks of things, Downs might be going for another new record of points collected in a season. What’s impressive is that the 2020/21 DStv Premiership defending champions haven’t conceded a single goal in the league, even despite playing their Premier Soccer League rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. They’ve managed to score eleven goals in the league, with their leading goal-scorer being the on-form Peter Shalulile who’s a nightmare for the opponents. Also, Sundowns have maintained the bulk of their starting line-up pretty much the same. Even when the technical team does change, the new faces bring their all to each game. Without any doubt, Sundowns have immense talent, quality, and even experience on and off the bench.
