Orlando Pirates Goalkeeper Richard Ofori is having a sketchy season at the Buccanneers this season. Ofori was signed by Orlando Pirates from Maritzburg United at the beginning of the season, and since his arrival,l Ofori has already helped the team win the MTN 8 trophy. Ofori was a hero in the MTN 8 as he helped his team Orlando Pirates get the better of their neighbors and bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs, he(Ofori) was able to keep clean sheets in both the first leg and the second leg.
After the MTN 8, Ofori has made a couple of blunders that have led to his team conceding unnecessary goals, and he was temporarily dropped from the first team, but that was due to an injury as reported by @OrlandoPirates the official Orlando Pirates Twitter account. Ofori's first mistake in the Orlando Pirates colours was against Stellenbosch F.C in a 1-all draw. Ofori has made some sketchy mistakes in the past which have led to Maritzburg United losing some of their games, like the Telkom Knockout Fina when he lost the ball in the air and it fell kindly for Maurizio Affonso who gave Sundowns the lead.
Over the weekend in the Soweto derby, Ofori made three if not four blunder which nearly led to a goal for Kaizer Chiefs, one of those blunders is the one of Lebogang Manyama that missed thee target after Manyama toe-poked the ball trying to find the back of the net. In today's encounter, Ofori conceded a goal that he should have saved with relative ease and comfort as Golden Arrows defeated Orlando Pirates 2-nil at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, in KwaZulu-Natal.
Is Richard Ofori not living up to expectations at Orlando Pirates?
