Premier League

The reason why Mabasa might be Pirates' lucky charm.

Orlando Pirates has gone 9 years without winning the Premier Soccer League title, it was in the 2011/12 season which they last tasted a league triumph under the guidance of Dutch legend Ruud Krol as reported on

With the Sea Robbers eager to get to the top there is only one player that is going to be very important to the team, that player is none other than Tshegofatsha Mabasa.

The big burly striker is a focal point of attack for the Soweto giants as he is a traditional number 9 that attacks the ball inside the 18 areas, he does not need space to attack as he is very comfortable battling it out with the defenders either aerially or on the ground.

He fits perfectly for the Orlando Pirates style of play as they rely on wingers to start their attacks, the likes of Vincent Pule who has already started a good relationship with the centre-forward as he assisted two of his goals already.

Imagine Thembinkosi Lorch, Dean Hotto and Vincent Pule playing as the attacking players to feed off Tshegofatsha Mabasa most teams in the DSTV Premiership League will not be able to come out alive.
