DStv Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs have never struggled to identify or bring in talented youngsters but one criticism they often face is their inability to break into the first team and living up to the hype that comes with joining the club.
The player contract at Kaizer Chiefs stipulates that every individual needs to over deliver or risk getting their contract not renewed or terminated.
In 2016 Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs made an exciting announcement after Ryan Moon decided to switch sides from Maritzburg United to Naturena. Joining the team he was offered a three year contract with option of a further one year extension. Much was expected from the Pietermaritzburg born footballer as he is the young brother of former Bafana Bafana winger Bryce Moon.
Unfortunately in his three year spell he failed to leave up to the expectations and was offloaded in 2019 with Kazier Chiefs opting not to exercise the extension clause in his contract. Years later Ryan Moon finds himself plying his trade at Varsberg BolS FC in the Allsvenskan League in Sweden after having joined the team in March this year.
Ryan Moon's ascendancy since leaving Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC has turned him into an overnight sensation following his blistering start in his first season in Europe. On Sunday the former Kaizer Chiefs player had the opportunity to feature in their encounter against FC Djurgardens FC. In the 55th minute Ryan Moon slotted in his seventh league goal in 24 appearances to give his team a 2-1 advantage.
In later stages of the match their rivals tried to claw back into the match as the final score was 3-2 with Ryan Moon's team clinching the much needed victory. Following their 3-2 victory on Sunday against second placed Djurgardens IF, Varsberg BolS FC currently occupy the nineth position on the Allsvenskan log table.
