Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Axed goalkeeper finds a new club

According to reports, one of the seven players released by Kaizer Chiefs this week has already found a new DStv Premiership team.

Brylon Petersen has joined Maritzburg United, according to the Soccer Laduma website, rejoining with coach Ernst Middendorp in KwaZulu-Natal after spending a year together at Amakhosi.

Middendorp needs to replenish his goalkeeping department following the departures of Jethren Barr and Bongani Mpandle at the end of last season.

Marcel Engelhardt of Germany, who joined the Team of Choice six months ago, will compete with Petersen for the starting goalkeeper position.

On Tuesday of this week, Amakhosi confirmed a number of departures, contract extensions, and new signings for the 2021/22 season.

With the departure of Brylon Petersen, Naturena also lost Willard Katsande, Kgotso Moleko, and Philani Zulu.

Furthermore, Yagan Sasman, Lazalous Kambole, and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya have been designated for transfer.

Kaizer Chiefs have extended the contracts of FIVE veterans and confirmed the signings of Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander to compensate for the departures of seven players.
