When it comes to football, certain deals don’t happen according to plan. Even when different reports are claiming that the player is edging closer to signing for a new club. This might get a lot of the club’s fans excited as they’re hoping to see the transfer target in action at their team. When that doesn’t occur, there will be questions asked in terms of the reasons that led to the deal not materializing.
Now, there have been different reports linking the South African junior international star Thabo Cele to Kaizer Chiefs for the past couple of weeks. However, the deal didn’t occur as he recently completed a move to Poland. This has left a bitter taste on Chiefs' hopefuls mouths as they couldn’t understand the reasons behind their team missing out on a free agent. Nevertheless, Cele’s representative has decided to break everything down for the football fraternity. As reports are stating that he will return to South Africa to play for Chiefs. This follows after Cele was left without a club after his deal wasn’t renewed at Cova da Piedade, a Portuguese second division side. This occurred in June 2021, however, he was able to make it to David Notoane’s Under-23 side for the Olympic Games. This is where he won many people’s hearts through his exceptional performances.
Even though there were indications that he might remain in Europe, however, he was still open to joining any team that required his services. Also, a team that tabled a better deal than he couldn’t refuse. Cele’s agent Helio Martins has confirmed that the 24-year-old midfielder has joined RKS Radomiak in the Polish top-flight league. According to Martins, Chiefs tabled an offer to try and lure Cele at Naturena, however, they didn’t follow up with anything. As it seemed like they had a change of plans and that’s when he realized that Cele should stick overseas. Which was an incredible move, as he has found a new team and he’s ready to play. “The Kaizer Chiefs proposal did not advance any further. And so, the future will now be through Europe. Radomiak’s desire and the club’s project convinced the player. He now will work to be called up to his country’s national team [Bafana Bafana] again, that is his main objective,” said Martins talking to Soccer Laduma.
