WATCH|| Mamelodi Sundowns Completes League Double?

Champions Mamelodi Sundowns won 2-0 at Ellis Park on Tuesday evening to complete a DStv Premiership double over Sekhukhune United. Early in the first half, the home side showed their desire, but Yusuf Maart's attempt from outside the box just went over the crossbar.

In the 13th minute, Aubrey Modiba should have given Sundowns the lead, but his effort flew just over the crossbar. A minute later, Gaston Sirino latched on to a loose ball and fired a shot just over the crossbar.

In the 19th minute, Sundowns had another chance to break the tie, but Sirino's looping effort sailed inches wide of the target.

The tenacity of the guests paid off.Modiba gave his side a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute with a bomb from range that found the back of the net.

After the half-hour mark, Sekhukhune went on the counter-attack in search of an equalizer, but they were unable to break through the Sundowns defense, and the game went into half-time with the visitors leading 1-0.

Early in the second half, Maema found Peter Shalulile with a lovely cross into the area, but the Nambian's header went just wide of the target.

On the hour mark, Maema had a chance of his own as he lined up a typical effort from the Brazilian.His effort sailed over the goal from the edge of the box.

Sundowns made a triple substitution in the 68th minute, replacing Maboe, Sirnino, and Maema with Teboho Mokoena, Gift Motupa, and Thabiso Kutumela, before replacing Zwane and Modiba with Pule Maraisane and Divine Lunga in the 83rd minute.

In the 85th minute, Shalulile should have put the game out of reach for Sekhukhune, but his sidefooted effort went inches wide of the post.

Shalulile did hit the back of the net deep into stoppage time to score his 22nd goal of the season, as Sundowns hung on to take all three points away from home.
