Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper could secure A Surprise Move To Orlando Pirates

It's possible that a former goalie for Kaizer Chiefs would join their fiercest rivals, Orlando Pirates.

Amakhosi restructured their roster at the start of the month by cutting a few players.

One of their best goalkeepers, Daniel Akpeyi, was placed in the club's public roster.

The Nigerian international was one of Chiefs' most important players, therefore his departure caught everyone off guard.

With Chiefs' blessing, the former Chippa United keeper is now a free agent and may sign with any club.

There appear to be a number of suitors for the keeper, including the Pirates.

Before the start of the new season, the Pirates decided to let veteran goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands go. This means that the club is now looking to add a third goalkeeper to its roster.

The Buccaneers have shown interest in signing the keeper, but they won't be the only team vying for his services. Sekhukhune United, Swallows FC, and Supersport United are also in the running.

A reliable source claims that Akpeyi has told his agency that he will not sign with any side that plans to use him mostly as a bench warmer.

The only problem is that Pirates already have an international goalkeeper in Richard Ofori, the source added, so there's no guarantee he'll end up there.
