Reasons why Marumo Gallants FC have fired Sebastien Migne

Sebastien Migne, the head coach of the Marumo Gallants, has been fired with immediate effect.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa have had a poor start to their first season in the PSL, with no wins and a 15th-place finish in the league standings.

They did, however, enjoy some promising results against local football powers Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, as they drew 0-0 with both Soweto giants.

Migne also led Gallants to the second round of the Caf Confederation Cup this season, after guiding them to a 4-2 aggregate victory over Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea in the preliminary round last month.

Marumo Gallants has officially stated that the French tactician has been sacked of his duties following an episode of insubordination towards the club's technical director Harris Choeu prior to Gallants' PSL meeting with Golden Arrows on October 3.

"Marumo Gallants FC terminated Sebastien Minge, head coach, on Sunday after a disciplinary hearing last Thursday, 7th October 2021," the club said in a statement.

"Minge pleaded guilty to insubordination and using abusive language toward Harris Choeu, the Technical Director. The incident occurred in front of players and the technical team at OR Tambo International Airport on a journey to Durban to play the Golden Arrows last weekend.

"On July 1, 2021, Minge began working with The Gallants. His job as a coach is to instill discipline in the team. After following proper disciplinary procedures, the club made the decision to release him.

"'It's terrible that Sebastien had to be sacked, especially at this critical moment when we're trying to stay in the league and progress in the Caf.' Chairman Abram Sello states, "As management, we cannot go against what the DC has decided, but we wish Sebastien well in his future endeavors."

"In the second round of the Caf competition, Marumo Gallants FC will face AS Vita from the DRC on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Polokwane. Despite the current circumstances, the Friday match will take place, and the club is working hard to meet all Caf standards, including having a trained coach.

"The club insists that there is no crisis, that training is continuing as planned, and that the technical team and players are looking forward to the upcoming games," says the statement.
