The guessing is over.
Ever since DStv premiership season 2021/2022 started. Kaizer Chiefs fans had realized that their best striker that they had for the previous season from Serbia was not appearing on the first eleven and the team selection either.
They started wondering as Amakhosi was not performing the way it was supposed to perform when the season commenced.
However, the Serbian striker finally clears the air on his absentia at Naturena.
Nurkoviç: I was struggling
" The injury actually happened at the end last season, we were playing Caf Champions League second leg against Wydad Casablanca as you saw, that was not my best game that i was playing after that. I was struggling on the filed with an injury then after five games, we decided that we have to do surgery," he added
Kaizer Chiefs was hoping for a DStv premiership race with the defending champions of all fhe time Mamelodi Sundowns. However, due to covid19 complications, things couldn't go the right way as the management wished.
Amakhosi had more than 30 players affected with covid19 and most of them included were key players with the head coach Stuart Baxter included.
Kaizer Chiefs management board had no choice but to request the PSL board to either postpone the festive games that were left because they can't have a match with eleven players that were only available. The PSL did not respond to the effect matter in due.
Amakhosi was supposed to play against Cape Town City at their own home soil but it turns out that Cape Town city went there and found the gates locked. The game was not played. Again, Kaizer Chiefs did not make it to Golden Arrows due to the following match because of the same crisis.
Kaizer Chiefs squad is very much competitive this season.
