Mamelodi Sundowns will go to the end of negotiations whenever they’re trying to get the services of the desired player. What makes it difficult is that Sundowns have way deeper pockets than their DStv Premiership arch-rivals and they mostly get the first nod. As they have the cheque book to accompany their negotiations. However, at times Downs have been challenged by other teams which makes it difficult for them to easily get players that they desire. Also, it is believed that when teams sell their players to the likes of Sundowns increase their asking rate.
Now, different reports are stating that Sundowns have revived their interests in SuperSport United star Sipho Mbule, meaning that they’ve joined the race with the likes of Kaizer Chiefs. Initially, Chiefs was heavily linked with Mbule before the start of the current season. It was even reported that Amakhosi were the favorites to get the services of the in-demand midfielder. However, things didn’t go accordingly as he’s still in the books of SuperSport. Over the years, Matsatsantsa and Masandawana as the Tshwane giants have been able to work together in terms of shifting players to each other. Since the Brazilians have been keen on getting Mbule’s signature, there’s a possibility he might move to Chloorkop. Even though there were a lot of speculations about Mbule leaving SuperSport, that’s when the club’s spokesperson stated that it wasn’t true. Mbule is committed to representing SuperSport with honour and respect and also help them meet their mandate for the season.
According to KickOff.com, Sundowns are working on a new deal that will win Mbule, as they’ll do a swap deal involving midfielder George Maluleka in the January transfer window. Unfortunately, for Maluleka things haven’t been going according to plan at Downs, as he’s struggling to break into the starting eleven. He hasn’t made an official appearance this season, since Downs have star-studded midfield, who have been performing back-to-back. Hence the Sundowns technical team cannot fix what isn’t broken. Nevertheless, they feel that they would utilize Mbule’s work ethic and talent at Chloorkop. It seems like SuperSport are open to sell him overseas. “The door is not closed for Mbule to move. The club has always been looking for an opportunity to sell him overseas,” said a source talking to KickOff.com.
