Isaac Mabotsa: Kaizer Chiefs they still have a chance to compete for the league title

Kaizer Chiefs have played 11 league games with 5 wins, 3 draws with 3 matches lost and they are on the 6th position of the league table with 18 points.

Isaac Mabotsa, a former Kaizer Chiefs player, believes it is not too late for Amakhosi to fight Mamelodi Sundowns for the DStv Premiership title, but he emphasizes the necessity of consistency.

Amakhosi is settling in under head coach Stuart Baxter, having won four of their last five matches. The Soweto giants are currently in sixth place in the table, eight points behind Sundowns, who have a game in hand.

"It is not too late to change your mind. They still have a chance to win the championship, but it will be contingent on how well the squad performs. To catch up with Sundowns, they must be consistent. The next match is against AmaZulu. If they win that game and go on a four- or five-game winning streak, their chances will improve "The Siya crew hears from Mabotsa.

"You must win games in order to win the championship. That is why I maintain that they must maintain a level of consistency. It everything boils down to one thing: victory. Yes, I'm not sold on the football they're playing, but it's clear that they want to win. If they win four or five games in a row, I believe the style of football we want to see will emerge as a result of the team's increased confidence. They're under a lot of pressure right now because they need to get things done. It isn't about being a great football player. However, if they win a string of games, they will gain confidence and begin to play the style of football we desire."

On November 24, Kaizer Chiefs will be facing AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium.
