'See What This Sundowns' Player Said Ahead Of Their Next Game.

Maema: It’s Motivation Going Into The Next One

In his post-match interview, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema stated that while the team was disappointed to be held to a draw in their previous game, there were some encouraging signs on the offensive end that they can build on in their DStv Premiership match against Sekhukhune United this weekend.

Maema had an excellent game against SuperSport on Wednesday, scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 2-2 tie between the two teams.

They were unhappy, however, according to the former Bloemfontein Celtic player, and are looking forward to bouncing back against Sekhukhune on Saturday.

"I think we prepared extremely well for the game, especially in the first half, when we were right on top of them," Maema said in a statement released by the club's media department.

"Because we aimed to go behind their defense and take advantage of the spaces in front of their defense, we made excellent use of it." And I've simply expressed my delight that we were well prepared for the game. And despite the fact that we didn't have much time before the game because we played back-to-back games and only had two days to prepare, I'm pleased with how the team performed, particularly in the first half, and that we scored a goal in that period.

"It's not the outcome that we had hoped for. I'm satisfied with my performance, and looking ahead to the next game, I believe that as a team we will perform better. Although we did not have time to prepare, we performed exceptionally well offensively, coming off a goalless draw against Cape Town City and eventually scoring two goals.

"I believe it will serve as incentive for the next one." I believe that the most important thing is to rest and let your recuperation process to take its course. That, I believe, is the most crucial consideration.

"And moving on to that game, we've already begun our investigation of Sekhukhune, so we're aware of the challenges we'll be facing, and fortunately for us, we're playing at home, which is a significant advantage since we won't have to travel." We're focusing on getting as much rest as possible in order to be as fresh as possible when the game starts on Friday night.

"I believe the same can be said about Sekhukhune; I believe they have had a longer period of rest, so we anticipate them to come strong since they are motivated after winning their last game against Royal Amateur Athletic Team; it comes with the territory of playing a great club like Mamelodi Sundowns."

In that case, it's going to be a difficult battle." We are aware of what is about to happen. And all we have to do now is dedicate ourselves in the proper manner so that we can get the most points possible this weekend."
