Sundowns development team coach passes away

When it used to be practically impossible for a young South African football player to obtain the chance to showcase their talent early in life, the current crop of young players today have more opportunities than at any other time in recent memory.

Significant clubs like Kaizer Chiefs FC, Orlando Pirates FC, and Mamelodi Sundowns FC are setting the standard for developing young South African footballers. Prior to promoting them to the senior groups, these three clubs have found out how to recognize and assist the nation's most inspiring young players.

Through their scouting network, which is regarded as one of the greatest in South Africa and all of Africa, they have had the chance to develop players like Themba Zwane, Sipho Mbule, and Percy Tau.

Many of the Sundowns players who are currently competing in the club's save group (Dstv Diski Challenge) and the Gauteng Development League were discovered by Mandla Mazibuko, the club's tireless junior scout and mentor.

He linked up with other youth competition winners from across the country, like Steve Khompela and Simphiwe Tshabalala, on his quest to uncover the up-and-coming generation of South African geniuses.

Due to his persistent efforts and keen eye for talent, he created a lasting legacy in South African football, producing some of the best players the country has ever produced.

I would also like to express our deepest condolences to Mr. Mazibuko, Sundowns, and South African football for their misfortune. May God Almighty give you the unity you need to overcome this difficult situation.
