Despite being debarred from Signing players by FIFA for at least one last time, Kaizer Chiefs have already been linked with a vaudeville of players within the Premier Soccer League and abroad, as they get their preparations for next season ahead of time.

Chiefs football manager, Bobby Motaung has over the years demonstrated the propensity to sign players on Bossman deals (free transfers), surely the June/July transfer window is also expected to follow a similar fashion.
Yesterday, the transfer deadline day, relegation strugglers Maritzburg United, in the most cruel of ways, terminated the contract of one of their top performers this season, Keagan Buchanan.
The midfield maestro who once donned the famous Amakhosi's no. 10 Jersey between 2016-18 under the stewardship of former mentor, Steve Komphela, is now a free agent.

Albeit he did not live up to expectations at Naturena due to ravaging injuries and indifferent form, his move to Maritzburg revitalised his career. Many pundits likened him to English giants Manchester City's midfield jaggernaut, Ilkay Gundogan, due to his intelligence on the ball and his measured range of passing.
Now that he is a player out of contract, and approaching his peak years, Chiefs should move swiftly and swoop for his signature as they bolster their squad for next season. This time around it could work out for him at Chiefs.

Their midfield has been terrible for most parts of the season, with an apparent lack of creativity and domination. And with captain Willard Katsande approaching the twilight years of his career, there will never be a better time to Re-Sign Buchanan to replace him.
However, if Chiefs register interest in him now, what of him in the intervening period, with 15 league matches still to play, surely, they can find him a team in which he can go and play until the end of the season, and make a return to Phefeni in July.
Over to you Bobby!

Do you think Chiefs need a player of Buchanan's ilk to complete their midfield?
