When Samir Nurkovic is likely to return for Kaizer Chiefs

Samir Nurkovic, a striker for Kaizer Chiefs, has returned to South Africa to continue his recovery following knee surgery he underwent at the end of September.

Nurkovic had returned to Serbia during his recuperation period to care to personal problems, but he returned to Naturena earlier this week.

Nurkovic is reportedly heading towards a complete return to training, despite not being ready to practice with teammates just yet.

Nurkovic is expected to return to action later this month, if not in the New Year, according to

Stuart Baxter has scoffed at the thought that Nurkovic could be shipped out of Kaizer Chiefs anytime soon.

"When you have good players, it's a question you get asked," the coach told Thabiso Mosia on SAFMSportOn.

"No one would ask me that question if Samir was a bad player."

"I believe Khama piqued Pitso's (Mosimane's) curiosity, and people are wondering if he'll leave or stay.

"It's all part of the job of managing the bigger teams and the personalities and egos that come with them."

"I have no objections to that; if one of our players becomes famous as a result of his performances for Kaizer Chiefs, I'll cope with it because it means they're performing well."

"I'm sure if someone comes in, other coaches will say,'maybe I can have their goal scorer.'" Samir scores at least ten goals. I'm sure he'll draw attention to himself.

"I'll cross that bridge when the time comes, but for now I'm fine." I'm at ease knowing that Samir is currently our player."

With Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro out, Kaizer Chiefs have had to change the way they play in the final third, with Bernard Parker playing alongside Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly in the front three.
