2 Areas Manchester United Were Better Than Chelsea In Yesterday's Game {Opinion}

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea took on Manchester United, and the result of the match is still dominating sport media platforms. Although they were widely expected to win, Tuchel's men were held to a draw by a lack of luck.

Even so, the Blues performed well and were the better team throughout the match's course. Unfortunately, many chances were wasted by their relentless attacks. The Blues were unlucky to lose a goal because of a misdirected pass.

Although Chelsea's attackers were kept at bay, Manchester United did their best to keep them at bay. Even with their few openings to work with against Chelsea, Manchester United proved to be a serious threat. In addition to that, there were two areas in which they performed better than Chelsea.

1. The Defense

After Wan-mistake Bissaka's led to Manchester United conceding a penalty, United's defense remained tight and Chelsea's defensive performance was superior to United's in the first half. Chelsea had over 10 corners, but their defense ensured that none of them resulted in anything of significance for their opponents.

Manchester United's defense was tougher to handle than Chelsea's. Jorginho was the only player on the backline constantly, as both Chalobah and Rudiger were moving forward.

2. Attacking midfield

However, despite Manchester United's lack of possession, their attacking midfield performed better than Chelsea's. Having the ball allowed them to quickly organize and pose a threat to Chelsea.

As a result, Manchester United outperformed Chelsea in this area because the Blues had a more cautious approach. Loftus-Cheek kept possession of the ball for far too long, and Ziyech went virtually unnoticed for an equal number of minutes. Only Hudson-Odoi seemed to be Chelsea's most aggressive player for large swaths of the match.
