Over the weekend, Maluleka made the most of his first CAF Champions League start and appearance of the season, scoring a goal as Sundowns convincingly defeated Sudanese club Al Merrikh in their final Group A match at FNB Stadium.

Sean Roberts, the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder's representative, recently told the Siya team that Sundowns had until May 31 to exercise the option in his contract. He signed a two-year contract with Sundowns, with the option to extend it. The two-year contract is set to end in June.
"The Sundowns have an option on him that they can exercise until May 31. When Roberts spoke to the Siya team in March, he remarked, "George would want to extend his stay there and continue to push for a starting spot and retain it."
