Defend Long Balls You Are 80% Safe - Pitso

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his side responded well to the questions which were thrown to them by their opponents Kaizer Chiefs on the night.

Speaking from the Orlando Stadium after Masandawana beat Amakhosi 1-0 to level matters on 53 points on the bag for both teams, 'Jingles' said they we happy to see Chiefs keep ball possession on their half since that was not going to hurt them.

"Two different halves, we made it difficult for ourselves, Anele could have scored or crossed, Gaston could have scored but he didn't know what to do.

"We survived, we responded to what the question was, they always launch it forward, if you close the sides and that is what have been traumatising the teams the entire season, then Akumu or whatever the guy is can have the ball, we managed the crosses, we avoided corners that's it."

While explaining the reasons behind the substitutions of the duo that contributed to the goal, Mosimane said he needed more speed.

"We took out Zwane and Sirino, we could see Sirino is tired, we put Lebo and Phakaman in for speed, and we responded to the question. What's the question, we launch the ball forward.

"You deal with daigonal balls, you manage that you are 80% safe," he said.

The PSL's defending champions coach also made it clear that his team is still not on top of the log despite having leveled matters points wise.

"By the way Thato, we are not on top of the log, they're still on top, they have the goals, they are still on top, it is going to be difficult," he said in conclusion.
