Game, expressions and culture serve Nathi Mthethwa has honored Orlando Pirates after they lost in the Caf Confederation Cup finals.

The Buccaneers fell at the last obstacle as they lost 5-4 on punishments to Moroccan side RS Berkane in the last at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.

Thembinkosi Lorch was the main Pirates player to miss in the shoot-out.

Taking to Twitter, Mthethwa said in spite of the misfortune, the group did right by SA.

"We show respect for Orlando Pirates for coming to the finals of the Caf Confederation Cup and verging on bringing the prize home. You did right by us and you have shown the intensity of SA football clubs that keep on succeeding in Caf competitions."

This was the Buccaneers' third time unfortunate in Caf finals in the wake of missing the mark in the 2013 Champions League and the Confed Cup two years after the fact.
