With Benni McCarthy currently in Scotland | Find out how rich he is.

AmaZulu FC began their pre-season training on 7 July but however their Head Coach Benni McCarthy is currently missing in action. 11 days in, the legendary former footballer is still in Edinburgh, Scotland with his family.

According to information obtained Benni McCarthy is expected to join the team next week. In his debut season with the KZN based outfit he was able to guide them to a second place finish and at one time they were deemed as contendets for the league title.

Next season Usuthu are expected to take part in the CAF Champions League after having gained qualification. Benni McCarthy in his heyday was one South African best footballers. He is one also amongst the few South African footballers who have had the opportunity to play in the Premier League in the UK. He is also the only player in South Africa to have won the EUFA Champions League, a feat he achieved with FC Porto in 2004.

During his time abroad he featured for Ajax, Celta Vigo, West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers. At the peak of his career he was one of the highest paid South African footballers as a result he since became one of the wealthiest in the country. As a successful footballer during his playing days and even now he drove around in some of the best cars on the market.

According to information gathered it has been revealed that he is currently one of the highest paid coaches in the country. His salary is currently estimated at R600 000. Over the years he has been known as a frequent traveler to the UK and mostly Scotland and has also owned properties over there.

According to the popular YouTube channel Football Navigator his current net-worth is estimated at $16 million, a figure in the region of R231,36 million. It can be said a huge part of it comes from career earnings and endorsement deals. As one of the richest former footballers he can easily afford to buy one or more high end cars every month, not that his wife will be impressed.
