Chiefs Juniors ready for final GDL group games

As final year examination dates approach, the Gauteng Development League hopes to wrap up this year's fixtures by the end of October, allowing the youth to concentrate on their studies.

The Kaizer Chiefs junior teams will play Black Aces at the Greek Sports Club in Ekurhuleni this weekend in the final round of the Gauteng Development League group stage.

Amakhosi's under-13, under-15, and under-19 teams will face their Aces counterparts on Saturday at 9:00, 10:30, and 12:00 respectively at the Greek Sports Club, with the under-17 team having led the way when they took on Aces on Thursday, where Chiefs beat Amazayoni 0-1.

The Chiefs' young players last played in the GDL on September 26 in Randburg against Orlando Pirates, before competing in the Engen Knockout Challenge at Marks Park last week.

Amakhosi U13s defeated Pirates 0-3 in Randburg two weeks ago; the U15s won 1-2; the U17s lost 2-1; and the U19s sealed the deal with a cool 0-2 triumph against the youthful buccaneers.

Chiefs will be hoping to win their matches against the Black Aces this weekend in order to qualify for the semifinals, which will be held on October 16th. The GDL finals in 2021 will be held on October 23.
