Wayne Rooney, a former Manchester United player, has commented on the reported altercation between teammates Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi at PSG.
It was said that Mbappe, 22, bumped Messi with his shoulder during a recent Ligue 1 match between PSG and Montpellier while pleading with Neymar to let him take a penalty shot.
The French superstar had earlier missed a penalty, but Neymar instead converted his after ignoring Mbappe's demands.
Furthermore, Mbappe stopped racing in a team's counterattack during the same game when teammate Vitinha decided to give the ball to Messi on the opposite wing rather than the former Monaco player.
When asked how he felt about Kylian Mbappé shouldering Lionel Messi, Rooney, 36, responded, "A 22- or 23-year-old athlete throwing a shoulder."
When asked what he thought of Kylian Mbappé shouldering Lionel Messi, Rooney, 36, responded, "A 22 or 23-year-old guy throwing a shoulder at Messi... This is the biggest ego I've ever seen in my life. Someone should tell Mbappé that Messi won four Ballon d'Ors when he was 22 years old.
The current manager of MLS team D.C. United is Wayne Rooney.
