In the past couple of weeks there had been rife speculation about Pitso Mosimane's eminent exit at Africa's most succesful club Al Ahly. But the South African mentor has finally shed light regarding the situation.

According to the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach talk were put on hold by both parties, which are his representatives and the football club.

According to sources close to him the negotiations were put on hold after his demands were rejected. That is when speculations about his exit started surfacing. A statement earlier this week by the club proved the rumours to be untrue.

The halt was also implemented so that the club can focus on the league as well as defending their Caf Champions League title. The two parties agreed to renew negotiations after the conclusion of the current Egyptian Premier League campaign. Pitso has a year left on his current deal with the club.

According to his long awaited statement Pitso is happy that he could be able to solely focus on what he does best, which is coaching.

“Thank you very much Al Ahly. All parties are happy after that meeting. We all continue with full energies and focus to finish the current contract ending this season,” said Mosimane in a tweet.

“Inshalla we might both want to enter into discussions for the new contract. It’s all about timing,” added Mosimane.
