The coaching merry-go-round in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) is seemingly continuing unabated, this after another highly-rated coach was sacked with immediate effect.
There is really a sense that in order for a coach to survive longer at any PSL Club, they really need to hit the ground running in so far as results are concerned.
Ordinarily, coaches are no longer afforded the latituted to experiment with their ideas, as club bosses are almost ready to swing the axe if the team goes for a few games without picking up victories.
The club which is formerly-known as Ajax Cape Town confirmed the Deanne's departure in a statement.
"Cape Town Spurs and Dylan Deane have today ended their working relationship with immediate effect," the club confirmed on its official website.
They went further to indicate that, Deane who was roped into the role towards the end of last season, in April to be precise, was given a mandate to return the club to the topflight division, however, despite a huge investment in bringing new quality players, the team was not going into their desired direction.
His sacking came against the backdrop of the Spurs' 6-1 mauling by Pretoria Callies on the weekend.
Although, the team is embroiled in a relegation dogfight sitting uncomfortably second from the last position, they are only separated from the 10th-placed team by 3 which leaves one maniacally belwidered why the club took the decision to dispense with him.
One can argue that, Spurs simply had overinflated ambitions which were diametrically opposed to the level of investment the club made, take for instance the fact that the club survived relegation on virtually the last day of the season.
That clearly demonstrated the state in which the club is in, and one cannot change the fortunes of the club in just a matter of 8 games, he needed to be afforded more time to rescue the club from suffering the ignominy of relegation.
It remains to be seen who will take over the reigns, but there will certainly be a myriad of coaches sending in their CVs.
Do you think Spurs were fair to dispense with the service of Deane or they were little impatient?
