Chiefs star has told his teammates to not celebrate

Kaizer Chiefs have had a shaky start to the 2021/22 season, however, they’ve been working harder to produce consistent results. As they know that if they want to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for the DStv Premiership title, then they have to start winning games. Now, the Chiefs key player Khama Billiat has told his teammates to not celebrate a lot after defeating Swallows FC over the past weekend. Amakhosi walked away with the Soweto Derby bragging rights after they thrashed Swallows by 3-1 in their league encounter. Billiat netted a brace for Chiefs to make sure that they get the required three points. This meant that the Phefeni Glamour Boys have moved to the second position in the log standings, eight points behind the log leaders Sundowns.

The 31-year-old talented attacker stated that Amakhosi’s victory over the Dube Birds shouldn’t blind them into thinking that the league is over. They still need to keep their eyes on the prize and play accordingly to win matches and catch up Downs. “We are professional enough. We used to celebrate when we were young right? Now, we celebrate in a professional way. We don’t need to be out there celebrating like the league is finished. We have to stay focused. We have got a strong squad and I always trust my boys, whether I play or don’t play we are positive about the result and we work hard like we always do,” said Billiat speaking to the Chiefs media department.

Furthermore, the Zimbabwean international stated that he’s excited about the way things are going at Naturena. As they’ve been able to get valuable points in the past couple of games. Billiat felt that Chiefs getting stronger on each match that they play and they’re starting to connect on the field as a team. “I am happy for the team and I am happy that we keep getting stronger and stronger. We understand each other and the importance of collecting the maximum points that we needed,” said Billiat speaking to the Chiefs media department.
