Sassa has noticed that many people complain about invalid rejections on their Social Relief of Distress Grant starting from April to June 2022.
Many applicants complain about invalid reasons they got after being declined. Some of those reasons are UIF, Nsfas, and alternative income. Many people have lodged complaints about being rejected unfairly.
Applicants believe that they qualify for social relief of Distress Grant but when sassa does verification they find out that these people either receive more than R350 per month or are registered with UIF. Therefore, Sassa advises applicants to visit their nearest sassa offices or go to srd.sassa.gov.za to do an appeal on their applications.
Applicants will be required to adhere to sassa regulations and confirm terms and conditions, which allows sassa to go through their information to double-check if they don't get any money more than R350 per month.
Sassa aims to provide better service to the people, and they apologize for the inconvenience.
