Revealed: Some South Africans Have Been Making Money From Illegal Immigrants Through This.
From malls to cities in South Africa, you will always see business stalls with people selling different products. From fruits and vegetables to accessories. Most of these people are mostly foreigners. Unfortunately during the past week some foreigners have had their stalls removed and their goods burnt down due to Operation Dudula.
Immigrants owning stalls at the Bara Taxi Rank suffered a loss last week when South Africans attacked them, took their goods, burnt them and evicted them from these stalls. However, an undocumented person cannot own a stall for years. Some how South Africans have been making money from foreigners in need of business stalls.
Zimbabweans Human Rights Activists visited one of the illegal immigrants that have been evicted from their stalls. The immigrant told the activists that there was no way that an illegal immigrants could own a stall for years in South Africa. They had been renting these stalls from South Africans so that they can go and sell there. The immigrant implied that the stalls they have they rent them and the news that they hijack them from South Africa is untrue.
What the immigrant revealed about the stalls shows that South Africans have also been helping and benefiting from South Africans. Also at the same time, it exposes that the South African government has not been doing its work when it comes to regulating immigrants in the country because if they wanted them they could simply locate them at their stalls.
Chances are there are many more ways that South Africans have been benefiting from foreigners in different ways. One example has been revealed and another example is the fact that restuarants could have also been benefiting from the cheap labour immigrants provide. Therefore, as South Africans we should also stop lying about foreigners hijacking businesses when we actually allow them.
