The South African government has warned people against attending gatherings that involve alcohol as they serve as potential superspreaders .
This was revealed by the minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele on Thursday .He gave examples of gatherings such as Matric Rage and Matric Farewell after parties as occassions that had the potential to spread the pandemic .
The said that some large gatherings that involve the consumption of alcohol posed as a great danger in increasing Covid-19 infections .Political gatherings were nt left out by the minister . He said that political gatherings were a danger as far as spreading Covid-19 .
The minister said that political gatherings were not immune to Covid-19 because the protocols were being violated and increasing the possibility of the spread of the pandemic . He said that protocols that include social distancing were the most violated and ignored Covid-19 protocols . He would not say whether the fourth wave would lead to another lockdown.
