PHOFEDI, GRADE 12 LEARNER WAS LAST SEEN GOING TO MALL OF THE NORTH
Phofedi Masedi, a grade 12 learner at Mohlapetse secondary school from Mmotong(Dikoting) outside Seshego who is also known as Phofedi Matsaung has reportedly left home around 11:00 on Sunday, 07 August 2022 going to Mall of the North in Polokwane.
According to Mokgone Matsaung, her brother, she has not made it back home and her phone is still on. A payment message of an account she was supposed to pay yesterday has been received by the family.
Mokgone Matsaung says from there they have tried to look for her from their closest friends but no luck.
A case of a missing person has been opened at Seshego Police station, today 8th August 2022. "We are pleading with the community to help us find her or the leading information to her whereabouts. Report to the nearest police station.
I understand that a young girl who is at greater 12 is old enough to go to the mall on her own. Loking at the body structure of this one, she must have been given some company from home. I know that some of these girls, they would tell you that they have grown enough to go wherever they want to go by themselves.
They feel like a maybe you are being too hard on them, sometimes they feel like you are abusing them. They don't see you as someone who is trying to protect them. Sometimes they know that where they are going is not just to the mall, they also have some things that they want to attend.
When they are given that space where they can be able to do whatever pleases them, that is where they get it all wrong. All of a sudden the child did not come back home, I think parents should be strict no matter how much they love their kids. They may not understand it now, but later the kids will understand what you have been trying to do all along. We hope that this young girl missing is safe.
