The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) members were urgently called for assistance by members of the public in Emona after a male victim was found lying unresponsive on an unpaved road, on arrival the victim was examined and declared deceased.
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa news report, yesterday, Wednesday, 21 September 2022 in the afternoon residents from Mngwana, Emona (KwaZulu-Natal Province) heard multiple gunshot sounds in the area and upon further investigation they found a 28 year old male with multiple gunshot wounds outside a tavern.
Reaction Officers and RUSA Medics were immediately called for assistance and they arrived at the scene at around 19:32 pm, the victim was declared deceased after he had sustained wounds on his head, chest and arms. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown at this stage.
The deceased was a self employed brick manufacturer who lived in the area.

Five spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene and a case of murder is currently being investigated, whoever has information which could lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects should immediately contact the saps phone or report at the nearest police station.
