A patient at the Steve Biko hospital kicks the bucket after falling from the sixth floor.

A person fell from the sixth floor of the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria on Tuesday, according to hospital officials. According to Lovey Mogapi, a spokeswoman for the hospital, the patient suffered fatal injuries after falling to the third level. Without the formal permission of his next of kin, according to Mogapi, the hospital is unable to provide additional information.

Police filed an inquest docket in the meantime after a man died during the weekend after falling to his death from the top level of the Menlyn Park retail center. The administration of the Menlyn Park shopping center has stated that on Sunday at around 9.45 am, a tenant staff member fell from Cavendish Court's top floor.

Emergency medical personnel were brought to the site, according to Nisha Kemraj, general manager of the shopping center, however, the patient passed away from his injuries. "An official investigation is underway, and Menlyn Park center management is working with law enforcement to find out what exactly happened. Every policy and procedure is being followed.
