Last night six people were confirmed deceased in a horror motor vehicle accident in Limpopo on the R71 between du Roi and The Junction Letsitele.
According to social media reports the accident happened at around 19H00 on Saturday evening.
Emergency officials were dispatched to the scene and on arrival they found one vehicle on fire while another vehicle several meters away was already damaged from the blaze.
Motor vehicle accident are becoming a common sight in our country. Each and everyday we wake up to the news of people losing their lives on our roads.
The leading cause of this unnecessary accidents are drunk driving and speeding. Most motorists drink and drive and normally do not obey the rules of the road.
The minister of Roads and Transport needs to tighten the rules and increase police visibility especially at night. Most people without licences or with unroad worthy cars travel at night causing fatal accidents.
