Due to the floods that occurred, the people of KwaZulu-Natal who live in town CBD had to be evaluated by the rescue teams and taken to Ladysmith indoors sports centre.However 70 residents were evacuated from the flooded areas in Ladysmith.
In the town of Msinga, heavy rains caused the uThukela River to burst and flood surrounding areas.
“We have recently experienced inclement weather conditions which have left a trail of death and destruction in their wake. So far 25 people have died with one person missing and R3.3bn in damages has been incurred during the summer season. We appeal to residents to be cautious,” said MEC Sipho Hlomuka. MEC Kwazi Mshengu says they will not hesitate to close any school that is badly affected by the ongoing storms if needs be.
It is very sad to hear about such things therefore when we do we need to be greatful gor our lives. So let us pray for the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
