She appeared in court today after she was arrested last week hiding out in Soweto, Zola. The suspect opened bulk cash bags and transferred the money into black refuse bags and put them on the trolley then walked out of Mall of Africa, where she is on duty.

The suspect made it on the headlines on all social media platforms and people started calling her a criminal mastermind for what she did back in 2019. She is said to have been hiding in a three-roomed RDP house in Buhle park and in her words, she is running from an “abusive boyfriend”. Bathobile appeared in the Alexandra magistrate court on Friday morning where she even applied for legal aid. Applying for legal aid is also a sign that the suspect has splashed the R4-million she stole from SBV.

Her bail hearing is postponed to 17 January 2022.
