Body of missing girl found in an open field. See details

The body of a ten-year-old girl who had been reported missing the night before was discovered the next morning.

At 08:30 on December 2, 2021, members of the Bronville SAPS were notified of a body discovered in an open field in Winnie Park, Bronville. The body of a girl was discovered when the police arrived.

She had bruises on her arms, legs, and neck, but no visible injuries. Maserame Violet Morikgihlane of Bronville Extension 15 was identified as the deceased.

According to preliminary investigation, she was reported missing at Bronville police station on December 1, 2021.

A murder case has been filed and will be investigated further.

Meanwhile, A 14-year-old boy's body has been discovered in Mfuleni, Cape Town, after he was reported missing over the weekend.

Mfuleni police responded to a complaint in Klipfontein Road around 20:15 on Tuesday, according to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi.

"When they arrived, they discovered the body of an unknown boy in the bushes. Medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased on the scene "Swartbooi went on to say.

Simanye Ndamanase, 14, was later identified as the victim, who had been reported missing over the weekend.

According to Swartbooi, he had been shot.

"The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his body, prompting Mfuleni police to open a murder investigation. The attack's motivation is unknown "Swartbooi remarked.

There have been no arrests.
