Sad news; Murder-accused KZN farmer’s bail application denied

KwaZulu-Natal farmer Garth Simpson displayed under the watchful eye of the Glencoe Magistrate's Court on Thursday, 21 October. The 68-year-old was caught for the alleged manslaughter of Qiniso Dlamini who was killed on 28 September. 


KZN National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) delegate Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said Simpson was denied bail by the Magistrate's Court on Thursday. 

"Simpson displayed on a charge of manslaughter, relating to the downfall of 17-year-old Qiniso Dlamini. He moreover manages arraignments of unlawful responsibility for and ammunition," said the NPA delegate. 

Dlamini and his relatives were purportedly following their dairy cows on 28 September and found the creatures on Simpson's property where a deadly battle happened. The scene was gotten on record. 

The Dlamini family and people from the Endumeni social class as of late said that they need Simpson's bail application to be denied. 

Simpson's next court appearance is ordinary on 26 November 2021 as the matter has been postponed for extra assessments, as shown by the NPA. 

Last week, minority social correspondence vested party Afriforum, detailed its assumption to outfit Garth Simpson with authentic assistance. "It's unquestionably a fact that couple of public concerns are working out on this issue. Farmers and people in rural locales are faced each day with the reality of residence murders, land gets, risks of seizure, growing wrongdoing rates and an inefficient police organization," said Ernst Roets.
