Nelspruit Mpumalanga: Following the increase of Petrol last night " Taxi drivers caused Chaos in the early morning of 06 July 2022 by blocking the roads around the City Of Mbombela. It reported that they also forced trucks Drivers to blockage of the N4 highway. However Minibuses Taxis were used to block busy roads such as R40 towards Hazyview and R38.
While on the other hand about 15 Taxi Drivers were Arrested at the for taking the law into their Hands. Meanwhile the Police had urged Drivers not to Participate on the illegal activities such as this one. It's not unclear weather the protest will continues again this Evening, But According to National Santaco President Philip Taaibosh said there Members were not part of Illegal Protest that took place in Mbombela' However we are against the high Increase of Petrol. He ended.
The price of Petrol went up in a record price last night which the Taxi Associations are against it. Motorists are advise to be more alert as the protest may move to other Provinces.
