Wild fire burst in Table mountain Cape Town

The City of Cape Town's Fire and Rescue Services is fighting a runaway fire at Rhodes Memorial, which has arrived at the University of Cape Town. 

The college said understudies have been emptied from the grounds by crisis administrations support staff. 

The fire has obliterated pieces of the Rhodes Memorial Restaurant and Tea Garden situated on the inclines of Table Mountain. 

The University of Cape Town (UCT) has started clearing understudies from the grounds as a runaway veldfire near Rhodes Memorial unleashed destruction on Sunday. 

"All UCT understudies have been cleared from grounds by crisis administrations support staff. We have taken them to foreordained areas," UCT's representative, Elijah Moholola, said. 

He added the college would keep on working with and support SanParks and the City of Cape Town to quench the blast. 

The City's Fire and Rescue Services was intently checking the fire on Sunday. 

The blast was found near the M3 parkway on the inclines of Table Mountain. 

The City said there was no reason for individuals to be cleared. 

Debacle Risk Management representative Charlotte Powell said at this stage, they have requested that inhabitants be mindful.
