A very sad incident took place on the R102 in Verulam a man was hit by a Ford focus vehicle and succumbed to his injuries.
According to the FlyingNewslive Facebook post a man was hit by a grey ford focus on the north bound Lane of the R102 between Ottawa and Verulam intersections yesterday 26 February 2021, the man did not die immediately but due the serious injuries he sustained from the accident he ended up dying.
The driver of the ford focus who was with his child contacted the emergency team, they came at the scene and found the man lying on right lane his leg was stuck under the vehicle, unfortunately the paramedics found that the man had already passed and there was nothing they could do but to remove the body at that point.
The driver of the grey Ford focus who was very sad explained to the paramedics that the man came from the bushes and suddenly appeared on the road, it was too late to stop he ended up hitting him with the car, the man seemed like he was not in his right state of mind.
People should be careful not to run onto the road without checking if there are any vehicles around, probably the man was running from something or was in rush to somewhere, always be alert regardless of how in a hurry you are, the driver of the ford focus will probably not be arrested because he was blindsided by the deceased pedestrian it was a genuine mistake.
