Katlego succesful malebe who recently changed his surname to mashile says. his life journey was not not a walk in the park for him as he was growing up. However he was very excited and willing to share some highlights with us because he is trying to motivate and give hope to someone who might be currently going through what happened or the experience he had while he was still growing up.
This is what he shared with us "I was born and raised in Gauteng, unfortunately things went sour when my parents ha to separate due to their personal issues. My late Mother and I relocated to a very dangerous squatter camp (informal settlement) with no adequate basic human needs. My mother was living with asthma, it got worse until she lost her life. That's when I realised that I'm on my own but God didn't allow me to end up in the streets"
He went ahead to add that "my aunt took me back to Mpumalanga bushbuckridge, it was not easy to stay with someone who is not your biological parent. I went to school and matriculated even furthered my education with the university of South Africa but somehow I knew I didn't want a office job, I wanted to be my own boss"
The 27 year old katlego said "I started doing research about carpentry because I admired my neighbour who was doing built in carpets, I started buying basic machines to start small and the support from the public was too massive and amazing. And this quote kept me going ""People called me a hoodlum and a thug. But they didn't tell you I was a carpenter, an architect, a stand-up comic - even a bartender. And a barbecue cook. But they didn't tell you that"" I ended up relocating back to Gauteng with no single machine, back to square one! Only my hands and mind"
He said his relatives somehow celebrated his demise until he got a merchandising job at retail stores to start his business again. "I'm here I have the experience, I won't sit and wait for someone to fund me and I will be back on my feet in no time" he said.
