Hawks take R1.2m drug pull, capture man on N1 parkway in Western Cape
The South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau of the Hawks in the Western Cape captured a 35-year-elderly person on the N1 close to Beaufort West on Friday after purportedly observing medications with an expected road worth of R1.2 million in a vehicle.

The Beaufort West K9 Unit and Beaufort West Flying Squad captured the man during a joint activity.
"The group halted a white truck at a vehicle designated spot on the N1 roadway close to Beaufort West. It was going from Johannesburg and was bound for Cape Town. A pursuit of the truck was led, and two earthy colored boxes containing 20 000 suspected mandrax tablets were found and seized for additional examination," said Hawks representative Zinzi Hani.
The man is expected to show up in the Beaufort West Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of managing in illegal medications.
