Rustenburg is one of the worst run Municipalities in the whole Country

What makes the situation of Rustenburg particularly painful is the fact that this should be one of the richest towns in the whole country. The town was built by mining companies and supported by a robust tourism system around Sun City, Hartbeespoort, and Magaliesburg.

However, ANC has failed to liaise with the business and renew the infrastructure in the town. Power cuts are crippling local businesses and basic services, such as sewerage infrastructure is not maintained.

Olympia Park which has a history of hosting world-class sporting events including the 1995 World Cup Rugby, women's s World Cup Cricket and the 2010 Soccer World Cup as a training facility hasn't had a power supply since July after the substation was vandalized.

Once a thriving tourist area, we have been brought to our knees by mismanagement across the board. In the town itself, there is nothing really going on except a minor pavement repair that is being done near the main post office.

Many building which was once offices are crumbling and now being used by shady FET colleges which are often accused of enrolling students on programs that don't exist. Crime is another cancer that is on the rise, for the first time in many years we have seen reports of people's bags being snatched in broad daylight.

In many residential areas, people are complaining of the reduced or non exist policing patrols. The grounds which were once used for recreational in neighborhoods like Noord and East are now filled with Nyaope boys all under the watch of the SAPS.
