With more and more people being unemployed, we, therefore, see a huge rise in different sorts of crimes and scams. People are trying to make ends meet even though they doing it in some of the most unjustified ways possible. We are truly living in difficult times and if the situation of unemployment doesn't change anytime in our country, I think we are going to live like this for longer than expected.

Women who have money or look like they have money are the ones that are mostly targeted by these different types of crimes and scams. Most recently, a certain young lady revealed a new scam that scammers are currently doing at big malls. These scammers are going around looking for ladies that are traveling alone as their targets for their scams.

The scammers then pickpocket these ladies by taking either their phones or car keys from their bags. After doing this, they then find ways to disable the tracker in the phone so that the phone or car cannot be located and found, which means that the phone or car is lost forever.

However, it doesn't stop there as it gets worse if you have a banking app on your phone. The scammers apparently are able to hack the banking apps on the phones that they have stolen and transfer money from your account to their account and a new account they have created so that it cannot be tracked. It doesn't matter if you have a pin on your banking app, if they want to get access to it, then they will gladly do so.

The lady who wrote about this scam on Twitter was at Mall of Africa when her phone was taken of her bag and, then her money was taken out of her banking account through the use of her banking app. She was distorted as she had blocked her bank card since it was with her phone at the time when it was stolen but, didn't know that the thieves could still have access to her money through her banking app. She was even more surprised because she had two pins for her banking app which one was for when she accessed the banking app and, the other for was when she had to do transactions but still her money in her bank account was stolen.

This goes to show that we are never safe out there and, therefore, we need to be cautious at all times no matter where we are or what we are doing.
