Phones and tablets were taken at Gauteng at a pop-up vaccination site at Soshaguve, North of Tshwane. This happened after another team was also robbed at gunpoint at Wonder city taxi rank at the same area and on Friday near Rivoningo Primary School a group of vaccination members got robbed. The perpetrators managed to take vaccination programme gadgets like two tablets which contained patient information and five cellphones which were personal belongings to the team. The perpetrators have also took cash from the employees.
Even though nobody got hurt during the robbery the Department of health has condemned the attacks and robbery to vaccination station as this delays the process and puts the people at work at risk.
Targeting vaccination station seem like a small time crime mastermind robbery as not much is there only a few gadgets. A case of armed robbery was opened with the Rietgat police station and the police are on the lookout for five suspects.
