Special Tactical Unit of the Nigerian Police Force has apprehended Bashiru Sule, 25, a member of a known kidnapping syndicate. Sule was caught by Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force's Special Tactical Unit (STS).

He was displayed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, on Tuesday. The suspect, who is accused of delivering innocent citizens to bandits in the northeast and northwest geographical areas of the country, mainly in Kano and Katsina States, was arrested last week.

He poses as a passenger and boarded a commercial vehicle at the Janguna and Rija Zaki garage in Kano State, where he remained for several hours. While riding the bus, he makes a phone call to his gang member, informing him of their location and providing updates on their progress. When the bus reaches an isolated location, his gang mates stop it and abduct all of the passengers, while he claims to have escaped the bandits by luck.

The suspect also poses as a bus driver, and he picks up passengers at the same parks where he drops off his passengers. As soon as he has obtained the required number of people, he transports them directly to the kidnapper's camps.

I also establish friends with wealthy individuals and conspire with my gang members to abduct them at an appropriate time if I know of someone who is financially secure." According to the suspect's confessional testimony, he got a total of N146,000 from all of the operations before being apprehended in Kazaure, Jigawa State.

Mba also advised motor park managers to be more conscientious in their dealings with drivers and passengers, according to the CP. He promised that no matter how ingenious the methods used by kidnappers, they would be apprehended and brought to justice.
