Tavern of death - Time of possible death revealed. Why was a 13-year-old out at 4am?

More details are emerging about the horror tavern of death in the Eastern Cape.

At least 21 young people lost their lives as they were partying. The incident has sent shock waves across South Africa.

The cause of the deaths is still unclear but on Monday, during his speech at the Rural Safety Summit in Parys, police minister Cele said the partygoers began dying from about 2.13am.

Cele went on to question those who are asking were the police were when the incident took place.

He said it was unfair to point fingers to the police. He went to ask how and why a 13 year old was out at 4am?

“A 13-year-old died. A 17-year-old. Nine girls died, 12 boys. And people ask, 'where were the police?' A 13-year-old dies at 4am and you are asking where are the police — really? Why was a 13-year-old out at 4am?” Cele questioned.

It is still not clear how the 21 young people died and police are still clamping down on clues.

What shocked many people was the age range of those people who lost their lives. Many of them were very young and it is still not clear how their parents let them leave their houses in the wee hours of the night.
