Cable theft has become a huge problem in South Africa. Not a week passes without reports of cable theft being heard. It is quite sad that after the cables are stolen, infrastructure will be affected. Criminals looking to satisfy their greed will steal these cables thereby leaving innocent people to suffer from their actions.
After electricity cables in Seshego Zone 5G were stolen on Monday, some residents in the area have been left in the dark. Reports say that the theft happened during the morning.
However, the theft left about 10 homes without electricity as the issue has not been repaired. Imagine being without electricity because your electricity cables were stolen? It is time that these criminals get the treatment that they deserve in this country. Any suspect caught with stolen cables must be dealt with if found guilty.
What do you think about this incident? How do you think cable theft can be stopped? Tell me your thoughts in the comments section below.
