A building in flames as fighter fighters fight the fire and rescue occupants

A building in KZN was up in flames as firefighters response to the call to rescue occupants on early hours of Friday morning.

A footage displayed smoke coming out of the Xinhua distribution centre which is famously known as China Mall.

Some were taken to the hospital whilst there were no deaths were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been identified at this point.

“Paramedics have treated and assessed 11 patients at the scene. Only two of these patients have been taken to hospital for continued medical care," said KZN EMS Spokesperson Robert McKenzie.

The streets were flooded with the police, and roads had to be closed for the safety of road users to avoid collateral damage. An investigation will be undertaken to determine the cause of the fire.
