Four murder victim with sticks and hammers.

Four murder suspects, ages 23 to 29, are due in court today at Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court for the murder of a 38-year-old man. KwaMashu detectives apprehended the accused four on the 27th of January 2022.

At about 10:00 a.m. on December 29, 2021, police officers responded to a report of mob justice on Langwe Road in KwaMashu's D Section. A group of individuals assaulted Siphiwe Shelembe (38) with sticks and hammers, and he was also burned with plastic by a group of people who accused him of robbery in the neighbourhood.

When the suspects saw the police vehicle approaching, they bolted. The victim suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment, where he died as a result of his injuries.

A murder inquiry has been initiated at the KwaMashu police station. The suspects were apprehended after a thorough investigation. Citizens are reminded that vigilantism is severely condemned, and anyone caught taking the law into their own hands will be subjected to the full force of the law.
